One row per staffing slot; ×N means that many people on that block. Times are local to the location. +1 marks a shift that ends the following calendar day.

Use this pattern when…

  • You have fewer than 8 staff and traffic is flat enough that weighting by day is false precision.
  • You want part-time-friendly 5-hour shifts that fit around studies or a second job.
  • You are moving off a spreadsheet and want the smallest thing that is obviously correct.

What to watch out for

  • A hard 15:00 handover with no overlap means the till count and the floor are unattended for a few minutes. Give the closer a 14:45 start if that matters to you.
  • Five-hour shifts sit just under most jurisdictions' mandatory-break thresholds. That is convenient, but check yours — some trigger at 4 or 4.5 hours.
  • Six trading days with the same two people is 30 hours each and no redundancy. One flu week and you close early.
