One row per staffing slot; ×N means that many people on that block. Times are local to the location. +1 marks a shift that ends the following calendar day.

Use this pattern when…

  • You extend trading hours for one week a year and your normal template cannot express it.
  • You bring in seasonal staff who need a defined, short shift rather than a full rota slot.
  • You want the overtime exposure visible before you commit, not after payroll runs.

What to watch out for

  • This week generates overtime by design. At 06:00-22:00 Friday coverage, anyone doing two long days plus a normal week crosses 40 hours — check the total per person before publishing, not after.
  • Predictive-scheduling jurisdictions do not suspend their notice rules for holidays. Post the whole week 14 days out, including the Saturday recovery shifts.
  • Seasonal hires need the till and the alarm code. Scheduling them without the skill tag produces a Friday where four people are on the floor and none can process a return.
