Three regional teams each working their own local day, handing over as the sun moves. The scheduling trap is that the grid only makes sense in local time — which is exactly how Weekwright stores it.
Times below are LOCAL to each region. Applied in Weekwright, each site keeps its own timezone, so the grid stays right when regions shift DST on different dates.

One row per staffing slot; ×N means that many people on that block. Times are local to the location. +1 marks a shift that ends the following calendar day.
Use this pattern when…
You have (or are hiring into) teams in at least two distant timezones and want to retire the night shift entirely.
Your work hands over cleanly — tickets and queues, not a phone conversation mid-call.
You would rather pay for three sites than pay a night differential and eat the attrition.
What to watch out for
Every shift here is 09:00-17:00 LOCAL. If your scheduler stores one org-wide timezone, this template silently becomes wrong twice a year when the regions change DST on different dates.
Handover overlap is not optional. Two shifts that touch at exactly 17:00/09:00 with zero overlap means whatever was in progress is dropped.
24/5 is not 24/7. This pattern leaves the weekend uncovered unless one region takes it — decide which, and pay for it.
From CSV to a live schedule
Three steps, no data entry.
The download is not a PDF you print and pin up. Its columns are the ones Weekwright's schedule importer reads, so the file you edit in Excel is the file you upload.
1
Swap in your team
Replace the placeholder names in the Employee column with your staff. Leave Day, Start, End, and Position alone — those are what the importer maps.
2
Upload it
Drag the file onto the schedule page. Every row is previewed with its detected columns before anything is created, so a bad cell is a warning, not a surprise.
3
Tell the AI what changed
“Maya is off Thursday, cover it”. The agent repairs the week against your real availability, skills, and compliance rules instead of you re-editing the grid.
Coverage achieved by handing work between teams in different timezones, each working their own local daytime, rather than by running night shifts in one location. Three regions at roughly 8 hours each covers a full day.
How does Weekwright handle multiple timezones?
Every shift stores its timezone alongside its start and end, and each location carries its own. A multi-region org therefore does not have a single 'org timezone' that goes wrong — the APAC team's 09:00 is their 09:00 even when EMEA has already changed DST and they have not.
How much handover overlap should I schedule?
Thirty minutes is the usual minimum, which is why the shifts here run to 17:30 rather than 17:00 and the leads start at 08:30. Anything less and in-progress work gets dropped at the boundary.
Stop rebuilding the same week.
