Call center template

Round-the-clock without flat staffing.

06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, 22:00-06:00 — with double the agents on the daytime shift, because that is where the calls are. Overnight keeps a skeleton crew and a lead who can escalate.

One row per staffing slot; ×N means that many people on that block. Times are local to the location. +1 marks a shift that ends the following calendar day.

Use this pattern when…

  • You answer calls at 03:00 but 70% of your volume lands between 09:00 and 18:00.
  • You need a named lead on every shift for escalations, including overnight.
  • You have 18+ agents — below that, 24/7 coverage means single-person shifts and no resilience.

What to watch out for

  • Coverage is not the same as service level. This grid puts bodies on seats; whether you hit an 80/20 answer target depends on your arrival curve, which is yours to measure.
  • The overnight shift has the highest attrition in any contact center. Pay the differential, rotate people through it, and do not staff it exclusively with new hires.
  • Shrinkage is real: breaks, training, and absence take 25-35% off nominal staffing. Schedule the headcount you need plus shrinkage, or the grid lies to you.

From CSV to a live schedule

Three steps, no data entry.

The download is not a PDF you print and pin up. Its columns are the ones Weekwright's schedule importer reads, so the file you edit in Excel is the file you upload.

  1. 1

    Swap in your team

Replace the placeholder names in the Employee column with your staff. Leave Day, Start, End, and Position alone — those are what the importer maps.

  2. 2

    Upload it

Drag the file onto the schedule page. Every row is previewed with its detected columns before anything is created, so a bad cell is a warning, not a surprise.

  3. 3

    Tell the AI what changed

“Maya is off Thursday, cover it”. The agent repairs the week against your real availability, skills, and compliance rules instead of you re-editing the grid.
