One row per staffing slot; ×N means that many people on that block. Times are local to the location. +1 marks a shift that ends the following calendar day.
From CSV to a live schedule
The download is not a PDF you print and pin up. Its columns are the ones Weekwright's schedule importer reads, so the file you edit in Excel is the file you upload.
Replace the placeholder names in the Employee column with your staff. Leave Day, Start, End, and Position alone — those are what the importer maps.

12-hour shifts win on handover count and staff preference for consecutive days off. 8-hour shifts win when acuity varies by time of day, when law or agreement caps shift length, or when fatigue on hour 11 is unacceptable for the work. Both are in this template library — pick the constraint that actually binds you.
Forward: days to evenings to nights. Delaying sleep is easier than advancing it, and forward rotation shows better outcomes on alertness and retention in shift-work research. A backward rotation is a common and expensive mistake.
